The Best of Sacramento Antiquing

I am a self-proclaimed vintage clothing, consignment apparel/accessories and antique hunting addict! To me, an idea of a fun day out involves venturing to one of my favorite local spots and checking out the latest assortment of goodies.

If you read my post "How to Treasure Hunt Like a Pro," then you know that I love a good hunt. In that post I offer some tips and tricks to help make your next treasure hunting adventure a success but trust me when I say I didn't come by these tips and tricks easily. It's taken many an outing and a little bit of time training my treasure hunting eyes to master this unique skill set.

That being said, back in August 2020 when I moved up to Sacramento for the foreseeable future, I was quite excited at the opportunity to have a new treasure hunting playground. Living in Los Angeles, treasure hunting can seem like a fruitless hobby given the astronomical price tags on just about everything.

While Sacramento may not always have the selection or pizzazz of Los Angeles, it's giving Southern California a run for it's money (quite literally), considering the incredible finds I've had since living in Sacramento - all at a fraction of the cost!

This post is the first of three covering my favorite in vintage, consignment AND antique in Sacramento. So, here it is, in my humble opinion (and somewhat limited experience), the best of Sacramento Antiquing.

Best of Antiques

Antique Trove

Location: 236 Harding Blvd, Roseville CA 95678

Specialty: Antique, Vintage and Retro Items. With over 40,000 square feet and 250 antique dealers offering unique vignettes, Antique Trove has something for everyone. My personal favorite finds here have been vintage clothes and jewelry all at extremely reasonable prices.

Bliss Marketplace

Location: 2529 Mercantile Drive Suite C Rancho Cordova or 2722 R Street Sacramento

Specialty: Bliss Marketplace has been one of my absolute favorite destinations to frequent during my time in Sacramento. Not only do they have amazing vintage, antiques and more, but they have themed showcases during the holidays in which the entire store (Rancho Cordova location) is filled with Holiday memorabilia. And not just any holiday memorabilia but unique, one of a kind pieces to deck the halls. The price points really can’t be beat either!

Gypsy Chic Vintage Market

Location: 109 Flocchini Cir, Lincoln, CA 95648

Specialty: Shabby chic reworked and up-cycled pieces for the home. This 6,000 square foot marketplace with over 40 vendors takes place the second Thursday through Sunday of every month. It is a bit of a trek from Sacramento but if you're looking for unique pieces for your home I would recommend making the trip and checking it out.

Magnolia Antiques

Location: 6468 Fair Oaks Blvd, Carmichael, CA 95608

Specialty: Eclectic home decor. This antique store is one of the hidden gems in Carmichael offering a wide variety of decor to suit whatever your design preference. While I personally haven't purchased anything from here just yet, there's plenty of items I have my eyes on - both for my home and closet!

57th Street Antique Mall

Location: 875 57th St, Sacramento, CA 95819

Specialty: Vintage memorabilia and clothes. While limited, the 57th Street Antique Mall has a beautiful selection of vintage clothing. One of my favorite finds here was a beautiful gold and pink ring that I purchased for $30 but looks like it could easily retail for $3,000. As you can see below, their selection of vintage clothing and accessories is varied, each piece more interesting than the last.

Midway Antique Mall

Location: 5130 Madison Ave, Sacramento, CA 95841

Specialty: Incredible mid-century furniture vignettes, estate jewelry and clothes. From the moment you enter Midway Antique Mall you feel transported to a different time and place. If you ever needed decoration inspiration, this is the place for you!

Wrecklamation

Location: 325 Pleasant Ave, Auburn, CA 95603

Specialty: Unique accent pieces for the home. I visited this Auburn hotspot for the first time with my mom recently and was blown away by the selection of home decor and accessories. I will admit, I don't tend to gravitate toward "shabby-chic" decor however Wrecklamation has SO much more to offer. From pieces to elevate your outdoor living space to noteworthy items to elevate your indoor living, Wrecklamation has something for everyone at extremely reasonable prices. Highly recommend making the trip up the hill for this one.
